SRINAGAR, INDIA - SEPTEMBER 24: Indian paramilitary soldiers toss kerosene onto one of the few remaining rooms not on fire as they plan to storm a house occupied by three Pakistani-trained militants September 24, 2002 in Srinagar, India. The militants, that police say belong to the Pakistani militant group Lashkar-e-Taiba, entered the house the day before, one day before state elections, holding hostage three police officers who had come to investigate and killing a fourth. The three hostages managed to escape from the first floor bedroom with the assistance of paramilitary soldiers. The assault began at daybreak with soldiers firing several recoilless rockets into the house, set the place on fire, then set a final explosive charge before soldiers stormed through the gate.
