Animal India
The common tailorbird (Orthotomus sutorius) is a little songbird with a greenback, a reddish crown, and a long bill, found across tropical Asia. Popular for its nest made of leaves ''sewn'' together with plant fiber or spider silk and makes a cradle-like nest. These birds range in size from 10 to 14 centimeters (3.9 to 5.5 in) and weigh 6 to 10 grams (0.21 to 0.35 oz). This passerine bird is typically found in open farmland, scrub, forest edges, and gardens. A common tailorbird is using all its strength in the mango tree to pull the entire silk from the spider's cobwebs on the leaf to build its own nest at Tehatta, West Bengal; India on 01/04/2023.
