VIENNA, AUSTRIA - MAY 11: Vienna Museum of Art History, founded in mid-19th displays thousands of unique historical artifacts in Austria. The museum has a large collection of historical artworks from all around the world.The museum features priceless works of art from Ancient Egypt, Ancient Greece and Rome, Byzantine, and Ottoman civilizations. There are also important cultural assets smuggled from Türkiye.Among the important artifacts from ancient Greece and Rome are the Youth from Magdalensberg, the Amazon Sarcophagus, the Brygos Cup, and the Votive Statue of a Man from Cyprus. Some of the well-known pieces include The Gladiator Mosaic, The Tiberius Group, and The Crouching Venus. The museum also showcases mummies from ancient Egypt.The most well-known cultural artifacts in the museum that were brought out of Türkiye in different periods are the Lion of Knidos, the Nereid Monument, the Altar of Zeus, the Mausoleum at Halicarnassus, the Agora Gate of the ancient city of Miletus, the Trysa Heroon, the Old Fisherman Statue, the tombs of Sultan Selim II and Sultan Murad III, and the tiles from the library of Mahmud I.
