Exterior walkways of Denys Lasdun-designed tower, UK; 1961

Views of exterior walkways, known as 'galleries', that connect the entrances of maisonettes to lifts and stairs of a central service tower in a 'cluster block' of council flats designed by the architect Denys Lasdun as social housing that had responded to the criticism of earlier residential blocks that residents were socially disconnected from one another. Looking out from the galleries gives views of other towers within the cluster and views of the city. Keeling House, Bethnal Green, London, UK; 1961. (LMA6079R - AEVZ001J)
