Arteries of the right shoulder. The brachiocephalic arterial trunk, originating from the aortic arch, gives rise to the right subclavian artery. This quickly divides into the vertebral artery, which supplies the brain structures. Below the clavicle, the subclavian artery becomes the axillary artery. The collaterals of the axillary artery are the superior thoracic artery (supplying the pectoral muscles), the thoracoacromial artery (towards the clavicle, the deltoids), the lateral thoracic artery (or external mammary artery, towards the pectoral muscles and the breast), the anterior circumflex artery (also called the anterior humeral circumflex artery, supplying the regions of the head of the humerus and the elbow), the subscapular artery and the humeral artery (also called the brachial artery, towards the forearm)
