Copan Stela N, South Face, engraving, as drawn by Frederick Catherwood, 1839
Depicting King K'ac Yipyaj Chan K'awiil ( Smoke Shell ), ruled 749-763.
Kak Yipyaj Chan Kawiil (died 763) was a ruler of the Mayan city of Copán. He was the son of Kak Joplaj Chan Kawiil. The early period of his rulership fell within Copán's hiatus but later on he began a programme of renewal in an effort to recover from the earlier disaster of the city.
