Historical view of the Schynige Platte - a small mountain ridge and viewpoint in the Bernese Highlands (near Interlaken) and belongs to the Schwarzhorn group. The viewpoint lies at an altitude of about 2,000 metres (7,000 ft), at the western end of a prominent ridge of the Schwarzhorn group. In the background are the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau peaks (from left to right). Wood engraving based on a drawing by Edward Theodore Compton (English painter, 1849 - 1921), published in 1876.
