Punch was a British magazine newspaper founded in 1841, famous for its humorous and satirical cartoons which were created by some of the foremost illustrators of the day. The Almanack was a supplement. Freezing food as a method of preservation, although it had been practised for centuries by trappers and natives of polar regions, did not become a commercial possibility until the 1920s.
