Jan Hus (John Huss,, c. 1369 - 1415) - Czech priest, philosopher, early Christian reformer and Master at Charles University in Prague. He was a key predecessor to Protestantism. His teachings had a strong influence, most immediately in the approval of a reformed Bohemian religious denomination and, over a century later, on Martin Luther. Wood engraving, published in 1899.
