Loreley – by Ludwig Albrecht Schuster (German painter, 1824–1905). The Loreley (Lorelei) is a rock in the Upper Middle Rhine Valley, UNESCO World Heritage at St. Goarshausen in Germany. Lorelei is also the name of a mermaid on this rock. Following the legend, where she combed her long golden hair and beguiled the sailors with their singing. They stayed despite dangerous flow no longer on the course, so that the ships were wrecked on the reefs. Lithograph, published in 1861.
