Maximilian I, Duke/Elector of Bavaria (1573 – 1651), called "the Great", was a Wittelsbach ruler of Bavaria and a prince-elector of the Holy Roman Empire. Woodcut engraving after an etching (1620) by Wolfgang Kilian (German, engraver, 1581 - 1663), published in 1881.
