A young Victorian girl playing with her pet dogs while her governess drinks tea in the garden of a mansion - probably Kensington Palace, London. From “The May Blossom; or The Princess and Her People†illustrated by HH Emmerson, engraved and printed by Dalziel Brothers and published by Frederick Warne & Co, London, in 1881. The book contains illustrated verses “…concerning the Princess Victoria…†who was the daughter of the Prince of Wales, who became King Edward VII in 1901.
