Writers of the Young Germany (German: Junges Deutschland) - a group of German writers which existed from about 1830 to 1850. It was essentially a youth ideology (similar to those that had swept France, Ireland, the United States of America and Italy). From top left to bottom right: Heinrich Heine, Ludwig Börne, Karl Gutzkow, Heinrich Laube, Hoffmann von Fallersleben, Georg Herwegh. Wood engravings, published in 1897.
