Archimedes

Archimedes formulated the hydrostatic principle. He proved that an object plunged into liquid becomes lighter by an amount equal to the weight of liquid it displaces. He observed this while having his bath and jumped out of the bath, shouting Eureka (I have got it!) Greek mathematician, physicist, engineer, inventor, and astronomer - 287 BCE in Syracuse – c. 212 BCE. Liebig adverts (Photo by Culture Club/Getty Images)
