(Original Caption) Boston Celtics' star Larry Bird poses beside a life-size wooden sculpture of himself at Boston Garden 2/3 prior to "Larry Bird Night". The lifelike figure was created by artist Armand La Montagne of N. Scituate, Rhode Island and was carved from a 1,800 pound block of laminated basswood. It took 15 months to complete the work.
