PW/COLONIAL MERCHANTS PARK/DUMFRIES, VA 7/20/01 BY: MARGARET THOMAS TWP 19 children age 8-10 gathered at Merchants Park for a week-long colonial camp sponsored by Weems- Botts museum. The campers, who are studying colonial history in their schools, played colonial games, painted pots, quilted potholders, and made stools. Visits by colonial reenactors brought history to life as they introduced campers to dance, dress, customs, and army life.
