Colorized postcard shows an unidentified man in a full, feather headdress as he stands next to a large statue of a Ute chieftan atop a fountain, Manitou Springs, Colorado, 1940. The kneeling statue, which in the postcard has been inexplicably retouched so as to render it almost invisible, was replaced (in 1989) with a metal reproduction after the original became irrepairably damaged by exposure.to the elements.
