SEP 13 1963, SEP 15 1963 Diamonds Are an Industry's Best Friend What looks like nothing more than a hunk of rock in the hand of Jerry Herfurth is really a 135-carat uncut industrial diamond worth perhaps $5,000. It can produce as many as 1,000 diamonds for the tool-and-die industry. About one inch by one inch, it came from the Premier Mine in South Africa. Herfuth will hold it for an investment.
