Everything is substantial in the living room, from the walls
Everything is substantial in the living room, from the walls of glass to the Douglas fir beams to the slabs of limestone used in the fireplace. The 12-foot ceilings proved to be a blessing and a challenge as scale became important to the couple when furnishing their new home. The glass-and-wrought-iron coffee table was custom made by Fort Worth designer Joseph Minton. Adding more texture is a hide from one of David Lewis' hunts layered on top of a large sisal rug. The neutral colors and textures blend perfectly with the tree-filled backyard visible through the windows. The room, like the rest of the house, is dog friendly as Bellagio naps in front of the living room fireplace. (Photo by Ralph Lauer/Fort Worth Star-Telegram/Tribune News Service via Getty Images)
