Algeria: Tourism under close watch.
A gorgeous restored roman amphitheater in Guelma, where a music and theater festival takes place every year. Located in the eastern part of the country, on the road from Constantine to Annaba, this former Numidian city became Roman in the first century before Christ, following the victory of Ceasar against Juba the First. In ancient times, Guelma was known as Calama. (Photo by Frederic CASTEL/Gamma-Rapho via Getty Images)
