UNITED STATES - OCTOBER 25: Gubernatorial candidate Eliot Spitzer has lived rent-free in this building at 985 Fifth Ave, between E. 79th and E. 80th Sts., for 13 years. His father, Bernard Spitzer, 82, bought two townhouses on the site in 1967, razed them and put up the luxury apartment building in 1968. Thanks to his dad's generosity, Spitzer, his wife and three daughters live in a home graced with at least three bedrooms, four baths, a balcony, library and sweeping vistas of Central Park.
