(Original Caption) 5/3/1962-Las Vegas, NV- Butch Baird chips from heavy grass off the 18th green on the opening day of the 1962 Tournament of Champions. Baird, who held a 4-under-par lead all the way until he bogey'd on the 17th and then again on the 18th, wound up with a 71, two strokes behind the leaders. Arnold Palmer, Mike Souchak, Doug Sanders, and Cary Middlecoff were all tied with 69's. Sam Snead and Doug Ford were tied for second with 70's.
