(12/22/06-Brookline, MA) Leverett Pond rescue, Pond Avenue . A woman and her dog were stranded between land and a very small island... In between was thick mud that one rescuer referred to as "thick quicksand guck". When firefighter arrived, they found the pair on the island with the woman wet and muddy from losing a battle with the mud while trying to retrieve her dog who walked into the dangerous mess.
