Lock 3 of the Erie Canal ready for opening day in Waterford N.Y. Friday April 27, 2012. The Erie Canal is opening early and the first ships through the locks Saturday will carry the trio of planes from the Intrepid museum in Manhattan that were moved out to make room for the space shuttle Enterprise.Bound for Empire State Aerosciences Museum in Glenville, the planes will begin their journey at 6 a.m. at the Port of Albany.
