Lord Dacre of Glanton - the historian Hugh Trevor Roper - who returned to Britain from Hamburg, as he investigates the alleged Hitler diariesd published in Stern magazine. *26/01/03 Lord Dacre, who as Hugh Trevor-Roper wrongly authenticated the Hitler diaries , has died, his family has announced. The 89-year-old, titled Baron Dacre of Glanton, died this morning at Sobell House, a hospice in Oxford. He had been suffering from cancer. He is survived by three step-children.
