Louise Firouz was an American Horse Breeder who lived in Northern Iran for 50 years where she bred Turkoman horses and Caspian ponies which she saved from extinction. She was an Authority on the Turkoman breed of horse and the link between it and the Byerley Turk, one of the 3 founding Stallions of the Thoroughbred Racehorse brought from Buda in Hungary to the UK after the siege of Buda in the 17th Century.
