UNITED STATES - NOVEMBER 14: A man waits for a bus in a bus shelter with wine ad. November 14, 2006 along Fordham Road in the Bronx, New York. Fordham Road was once an Indian Path and its first name was Kingsbridge Road in Colonial times. Before the Civil War, a railroad station was built near St. John's College, what is now Fordham University. The station was called Fordham because it was part of the Fordham Grant. Merchants built stores around the station and the village of Fordham was formed. The station attracted businesses, and a Village of Fordham grew up around it.
