Oscar Collazo Being Wheeled Away.
(Original Caption) Mission Unaccomplished. Washington: Oscar Collazo, whose assassination attempt on President Truman ended in death for his companion and serious wounds for himself, is wheeled from Emergency Hospital for transfer to Gallinger Hospital, which adjoins the Washington jail. Collazo, a member of the Puerto Rican Nationalist Party, told people that the assassination scheme was decided only two weeks ago when they became convinced that drastic action was needed to win Puerto Rico's independence.
