EGYPT, REDSEA - DECEMBER 2007: A oceanic whitetip shark (Carcharhinus longimanus), also called Oceanic shark, swims close to the surface followed by pilot-fish (Naucrates ductor), on December 5, 2007 around the Brothers Islands, off Egypt, Red Sea. Carcharhinus longimanus is usually 2-3 m tall but can grow up to almost 4 m. The oceanic whitetip shark is usually seen in the open sea between the surface and 150 m depth, although it has been reported occasionally near land and more particularly oceanic islands such as the Brothers Islands in Egypt.
