DECEMBER 29th: On 29/12/1890, a peaceful Indian camp was attacked by US Militia. In the ensuing massacre unspeakable attrocities were committed by the Militia in what became notorious as the Wounded Knee Massacre. The ancient "ghost shirt" on display in Kelvingrove museum, Glasgow, today (Thursday), which is said to have been taken from a warrior killed at the battle of Wounded Knee in 1890.
