01/05/2008 - Only open Sat and Sun 10-6. Don't need mall permission but Robert McBride is in management office and I've interviewed and he's friendly. Hope to run about 5 pix so would like an array. Here are ideas: 1. The food court itself is neat - two rows of food stands, all homespun. 39 flags hanging. People hunkered down over tables. 2. John Huynh at Juicy Hut is Vietnamese and very proud of the raw sugarcane he peels and juices to mix with soursop etc. The sugarcane juicer in action? 3. Jorge Pacheco's Taqueria Taco Ta Loco is Mexican and makes proper Mexican tacos 4. A Taste of Afghanistan is important. Owner Fuia and Niam Kabiri are very sweet. Their mantu dumplings and green tea/cardamom are excellent 5. Melanie LInton at Melo's Kitchen is from Trinidad and one of the newest vendors. I like her doubles and sorrel drink but her shark is popular 6. Right inside the front door (not in the food court) on the west is Pita House Bakery where Yoav Sahian makes excellent pitas with za'atar spice blend 7. I didn't try it yet but the big red coffee truck parked outside is supposed to be good. 8. Ken McBain (caribbean/scottish) has a mission to do gourmet/healthy burgers at McBain's Gourmet Burgers in the food court (Photo by Vince Talotta/Toronto Star via Getty Images)
