Gary Numan, 1981
Pop star Gary was remanded on bail. He gave himself up to police after learning that a warrant for his arrest had been issued the day before. The Warrant was issued after Numan failed to answer bail on a charge of possessing an offensive weapon - a rounders bat. His counsel apologised to the court for the singer, he said solicitors had asked for the case to be adjourned and had told Numan he need not appear. He was remanded until 21st December. He later said "The police were great. They even offered me a cup of tea". 8th October 1981. (Photo by Victor Crawshaw/Daily Mirror/Mirrorpix via Getty Images)
