(Original Caption) Pope Paul VI to Visit Turkey. Ephesus, Turkey: It has been announced that Pope Paul VI will visit Turkey to confer with Turkish leaders and to visit on of Christiandom's holiest shrines: the Sanctuary of Virgin Mary at Panaya Kapulu in Ephesus. The site was declared a place of pilgrimage "in perpetuum" by Pope John XXIII on August 18, 1961 and has been visited by hundreds of thousands of people of every religion.
