Schilling, commander of the 31st Fighter-Escort Wing at Turner Air Force Base, Albany, Georgia, in a ceremony in the White House Rose Garden. Col, Schilling won the trophy for accomplishing the first non-stop jet crossing of the Atlantic, from England to Limestone, Maine on September.
