circa 1830: Spanish mezzo soprano Maria Felicia Malibran (1808-1836),who made her opera debut in London 1825 as Rosina in Rossini's 'Barber of Seville'. She was known for her belcanto roles in works by Rossini and created the title role in Donizetti's Maria Stuarda 1835. She died in London after a fall from a horse.
