Himalayan Goral
The Himalayan goral (Naemorhedus goral) is a bovid species that occur in the Himalayas from Pakistan, Nepal, Bhutan, southern Tibet, and the states of Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh in India to western Myanmar. It is listed as Near Threatened on the IUCN Red List and CITES Appendix I because the population is thought to be declining significantly due to habitat loss and poaching for meat. Gorals are extremely difficult to spot because their camouflage is extremely effective, along with the fact that they lie motionless and can Stand at the vertical edge of a rock cliff.
