[UNVERIFIED CONTENT] The 'Historic Area of Willemstad, Inner City and Harbour, Curaçao' is an outstanding example of European colonial history in the Caribbean. It combines Dutch town-planning and architectural traditions with local influences. Curacao was established as a trading post by the Dutch West India Company in the early 17th century. Most of its original urban structure remains. The designated area contains four historic districts around a natural harbour, one of them is : Punda, including Fort Amsterdam and the 1732 synagogue
