NETHERLANDS-RESTORATION-TROMP
The large reclining statue of Dutch maritime hero Maarten Tromp (1598-1653) is moved on September 6, 2011 on a trolley after his tomb was removed from the Old Church in Delft for restoration work. The tomb of the Dutch admiral, which is significantly attacked by moisture and salt, will be restored over the next two years. Later the sculpture itself will also undergo a major renovation.
