This proved to be a positive amidase test for Nocardia asteroids, one of the etiologic agents for Nocardiosis, 1973. 80% of cases of Nocardiosis show clinical features of invasive pulmonary infection, disseminated disease, or brain abscess, 20% show cellulitis.
