US-MINE ACCIDENT-WORKMEN ON AIR HOSE

Workermen assemble an airline 26 July 2002, that will be connected to an air compressor at the rescue operation for nine miners trapped in the Que Creek Mine since 24 July. The mine located in the town of Somerset, Pennsylvania, filled with water after the miners broke into an abandoned mine. The compressed air will help to provide an air pocket for the miners some 240 feet under ground. AFP PHOTO/Tom MIHALEK (Photo by TOM MIHALEK / AFP) (Photo by TOM MIHALEK/AFP via Getty Images)
