These cells form from the fusion of many tissue macrophages in response to foreign bodies or in other inflammatory conditions. Also seen in this image are some small blood vessels containing red blood cells (bright red). Haematoxylin and eosin stained tissue section. Magnification: 200x when printed at 10cm
