Muntjac - a deer native to SE Asia - stock photo
Muntjac is a small deer native to South Asia and Southeast Asia. They are also considered an invasive species in the United Kingdom after escaping from a private estate around 1925. Because they are native to tropical regions, they have no seasonal rut and can mate any time of the year. They are unusual in that they have both antlers and tusks or fangs (teeth extending outside the mouth). Seen at the Tulsa (Oklahoma) Zoo.
