One and Sometimes Two Sets of Footprints in the Sand. The caption is kind of a play on words of the famous poem about footprints, given there appears to be only one in some areas and then another set in others. I captured this image with a view looking to the north across sands that I had walked on my way to High Dune one morning in Great Sand Dunes National Park. A few things were going through my head as I composed this image. One was just a memory snapshot of the long (and difficult) walk I"u2019d taken up to this point from several hundred feet below. The other was the magnificent, vista like view across the sand dunes with the peaks of the Sangre de Cristo Range off in the distance. Then there was the color contrast between the earth tones in the lower portion of the image with blues and greens in the upper portion. I later worked with control points in DxO PhotoLab 3 and then made some adjustments to bring out the contrast, saturation and brightness I wanted for the final image.
