Our Time in Mount Mitchell State Park. While walking around the summit area for Mount Mitchell in the namesake state park. The view is looking to the northeast to ridges and peaks of the Black Mountains with Mount Craig and then beyond with Grandfather Mountain, Feldspar Mine, Big Yellow Mountain, Grandfather Mountain State Park, Hawksbill, Table Rock in the N NC Blue Ridge Crest. My thought on composing this image was to take advantage of the higher ground I was located on (highest point east of the Mississippi River) and capture a sweeping view, looking down the mountainside and then across to the more distant ridges and peaks. I kept the horizon more or less leveled-on as I liked the color contrast between the blue skies above with the earth-tones in the lower portion of the image.
