Moontail Bullseye or Crescent-Tailed Bullseye Priacanthus hamrur occurs in the Red Sea and southern Africa to French Polynesia, north to southern Japan, south to Australia
It is an uncommon species found in outer reef slopes and deep lagoon pinnacles from 8 to at least 80 m. In small aggregations, sometimes schools in oceanic locations, also found under ledges or hovering next to coral heads during day. Feeds on small fish, crustaceans, and other small invertebrates. Palau, 7°4'59.208 N 134°15'43.176 E at 10m depth
