Albania starts nationwide vaccination campaign
TIRAN, ALBANIA - JANUARY 11: Albania has launched a nationwide vaccination campaign on Monday, Jan. 11, to stop the spread of COVID-19 with the country's Prime Minister being among the first people to be vaccinated.Footage shows Edi Rama as he arrives at the vaccination center in capital Tiran and gets vaccinated against coronavirus.For now, the vaccination campaign will be carried out at Air Albania stadium in Tiran and will be later expanded to other cities.The country received 500,000 doses of Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine in early January.It will be free of charge and will not be obligatory.Healthcare professionals, teachers, police officers, and the elderly people over 75 years old will be the first group to be vaccinated.Albania has so far reported over 60,000 cases and at least 1,241 fatalities.
