Universal Newsreel - reinforcements arrive in Vietnam; 1965
American newsreel reporting on the arrival of the 101st Airborne Division (the 'Screaming Eagles') into Vietnam. Wide shot of a military transport ship arriving into Cam Ranh Bay, shots of troops leaning over railings as the ship arrives, troops disembarking and using land vehicles, shots of colours being unfurled including a US flag and a banner for the regiment. Former commander of the division and recent ambassador Maxwell D. Taylor observes the arrival - his son Thomas forms part of the unit. The men take up defensive posts at the perimeter of this base that will form a staging post for the arrival of more troops. South Vietnam; precise date unknown, possibly 29th July 1965.
