Dar al-Hajar: Yemen's historic Rock Palace
SANAA, YEMEN - APRIL 12, 2024: Anadolu on Friday (April 12) videoed the Dar al-Hajar, located 14 kilometers northwest of Yemen's capital, Sanaa.
Built on a large rock in the valley of Wadi Dahar, hence named "Dar al-Hajar" (Rock Palace), the palace's history dates back to the 18th century.
Ordered to be built by the King of Yemen, al-Imam Mansour, as a summer house, the Rock Palace now serves as a museum.
Visitors from the capital, Sana'a, and other cities enjoyed their time touring the palace during the last day of Eid al-Fitr.
