HAMA, SYRIA - DEC. 4, 2024: Armed anti-regime group Hay'et Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) captured four villages near the city of Hama in ongoing clashes with Bashar al-Assad regime forces on Wednesday, Dec. 4. The groups have been advancing towards Hama since November 27, engaging in intense battles with regime forces. Recent gains include the villages of Pasif, Al-Jid, Al-Qaryim, and Hamra, located roughly 5 kilometers from Hama's city center. Clashes broke out on Nov. 27 between Assad regime forces and anti-regime armed groups in the western countryside of Aleppo province in northern Syria. Between Nov. 27 and 28, the anti-regime armed groups advanced rapidly toward the center of the province. By Nov. 30, they had taken control of most of the central area.
