Brit nominations launch party: Red carpet interviews; Jarvis Cocker (Singer) interview SOT- I was a bit surprised to be nominated but I thought I deserved it / I doubt very much that I will win but it is good to be there / If you don't shoot you don't score / I like Lemar he is OK / He said he respected everyone else who had been nominated / I do have a bit of a history concerning the Brit Awards / It's a long time ago / You get time off for good behaviour / Don't know whether they will invite me to the actual thing / (Asked whether he will behave badly at the next Awards ceremony) As you can probably tell I am a very mature and sensible person now / Verging on boring / I will just sit there sipping my mineral water / We shall have to see / (Asked who he would like to see win a Brit Award) I was pleased to see Cat Power get nominated as International Female / This year I am just playing concerts really / You produce what you are capable of / I always think I am writing normal, straightforward songs but when I play them to other people they go 'that's a bit weird' / I live in Paris most of the time but move between London and Paris / Very cosmopolitan / (Asked how his son likes his music) Haven't exposed him to too much of it / When I'm singing in the car he always tells me to shut up and I say people pay money to hear me sing / He's not impressed / If I won a Brit Award it would probably go in my cubby hole where I keep all my records / Pleased that Oasis up for Outstanding Contribution Award but it makes me feel old / Doesn't make me wish I had carried on with Pulp / (Asked whether he has watched Celebrity Big Brother) They haven't syndicated it to Paris so I am afraid I haven't
